TThe world’s largest software registry, npm, is home to over 2 million packages. While most packages are legitimate, there are a few that have caused confusion and raised concerns about legality. However, after careful examination, it has been found that these packages are not illegal. In this article, we will highlight 8 such npm packages that seem to be illegal but are, in fact, perfectly legal. From packages related to hacking to those that may seem unethical, we will clear up any misconceptions and show why these packages are not breaking any laws.
